L. A. Fajardo R. Born in Mocoa (Putumayo-Colombia) in 1951, received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Engineering Faculty, Electrical Engineering Department, Universidad Nacional of Colombia Bogotá in 1983, the M.Sc. degree from the Universidad of Valle Cali in 1997 and now is currently working toward his Sc.D. degree at the Universidad Michoacana of San Nicolás of Hidalgo in Mexico. Luis has worked at the Universidad Nacional of Colombia Medellín Campus (UN) from 1983 to 2004, where he has become an Associate Professor. He was a leader of a two-year research project (DIME-030805585) on dynamic load modeling. He was a contributor with his License Thesis to the UN’s three edited text volumes on “Introducción al análisis de sistemas de potencia”(Introduction to Power System Analysis) in 1983. His research interests are in the non-linear dynamics and steady state analysis of electric power systems. Luis received the Exceptional Teaching Award from the Superior Council of the Universidad Nacional of Colombia in 1999.
