Jacob Eliosoff is a computer programmer from Montreal with B.A. and M.Sc. degrees in computer science from McGill University. He has spent most of the last ten years working for startups in different cities and teaching computer science, first at McGill and then from 2003–2005 at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, where he also worked as a software consultant for a local networking company. Jacob keeps in close touch with his friends in Ethiopia and looks forward to many years of further involvement there. He is interested in ways in which international teachers and professionals can contribute in countries like Ethiopia, especially by cultivating the skills these countries need to build globally competitive economies.
