Dr. Ajay K Jha belongs to Madhubani and now the hometown is Purnea, Bihar. He did his B.Sc. (Botany) from Patna Science College in 1986 in First division  with  distinction of having   Merit position  in  the  University merit,  M. Sc (Botany) in 1988 in  First division  with  distinction of having  Merit position  in  the  University merit; Ph.D. (Plant Biotechnology)  in  1995 from  University of Delhi, Delhi.  Postdoctoral Fellow Scientist for 5 years  in United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Horticulture at Colorado State University, USA. Recently Dr. Jha has completed his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Business at the Colorado State University. Presently, Dr. Jha is working as a Faculty affiliate for the ‘Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program” in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Colorado State University, USA in addition to the Adjunct Faculty in the College of Business, Colorado State University.

Dr. Jha started his career as Agribusiness consultant with Israeli companies to look after the business operation in India, Thailand and Sri Lanka (1994-1996). Later, he worked as an Advisor-Agriculture & Rural Development, Embassy of Israel in New Delhi (1996-2000) and followed by two years as Advisor-Agribusiness with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has held many responsible positions such as Consultant to the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, Special observer for the Rural Development project evaluation in the Bihar on behalf of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India.

In addition, Dr. Jha worked as a consultant for the World Bank, Asian and African development Bank, USAID and UNDP. He has also led different floriculture, Biotechnology and Food Processing Industry projects in Israel and India. 
As an Advisor in the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, he has coordinated to set up “Hi-tech Agriculture Demonstration Farm” in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, in New Delhi under Indo-Israel Agreement on Agriculture Cooperation. In this capacity, also Dr. Jha was able to establish 20 joint venture projects in India with the cooperation of Indian and Israeli companies and led the several hi-tech agriculture technology demonstration works across India.  Dr. Jha is also a visiting Faculty in the Agribusiness and Rural management Institutes in India.

Dr. Jha has also served as OSD to The President of Israel H.E. Ezer Weizman, during his visit in 1997 to Cochin, India.  Dr. Jha served as a member to the UN Asian Chapter on Combating Desertification. He was also a member to the American Horticulture Society, American Society of Plant Physiology, Institute of Life Sciences and International Plant Biotechnology Society and American Academy of Management. Dr. Jha has published many science and management research article in the world-renowned journals. Dr. Jha has more than decades of Management and field experience in Indian Agribusiness, Biotechnology, Rural development and Food processing Industry. Dr. Jha has widely traveled repeatedly in various capacities viz., leader of delegations, expert members, and conference participants to countries like Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Israel and U.S.A.  He is a Consultant (Agriculture and Rural Technology sector) and member of the USA-India Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Food Committee of CII and member of Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation in Colorado, USA.
