Welcome to IPP

International Professors Project is a non-profit global network of Professors who have begun working as ”Academic Citizens of the world” on university campuses in developing countries around the world.

Our ambassador professors and instructors (which include expatriate, full, associate, graduate, and retired) teach, mentor, and conduct local research as they internationalize college and university faculties in their host countries. IPP is an innovation, inspired in large part by current trends towards globalization.

We are:

  • Working to meet the higher education faculty needs around the world. Helping less developed countries improve domestic educational oportunities. We are spreading by educational diffusion, with each participating university making its own cultural, social, ideological, ecological, and technological contributions.
  • Providing academic, organizational, and financial support needed to make the above possible.

Based upon our experiences to date, our plan is to further the organizational and structural develop-ment of IPP in the following ways:

  • By developing a database of professors and instructors for international development that range from expatriate, full, associate, graduate student, and retired.
  • By providing faculty with a comprehensive orientation plan to include continued guidance and support during the process of relocation.
  • By working with our host institutions to help adjust the global professor to their new departments, and the curriculum to each other. One of our major concerns will be the development of curricula and teaching methodologies to facilitate the achievement of successful academic programs. To reach this goal, IPP will employ culturally competent methods appropriate to the local experience.
  • By providing financial support and retirement plans to cover the hiring and compensation costs of our professors, beyond that provided by host universities.
  • By emphasizing priority fields of special-ization that would particularly benefit from an international perspective. For example: population, environment, security, economics, statistics, and probability.
  • By including the areas of sustainable economics, international higher education, global social science, sustainable science, international business, and peace and conflict resolution.
  • By strongly encouraging professors and fellows to undertake high quality research. IPP will assist in disseminating this research in various developing and developed countries.
In short, the International Professors Project was founded to create and maintain a new institutional pathway towards an appropriate and ‘developing-world-sensitive’ internationalization of higher education.
