THE ENDANGERED ALPHABETS PROJECT

We’ve all heard about endangered species. But what about endangered languages? Tim Brookes researches languages on the brink of being completely forgotten, and he’s here to break ‘em down and store ‘em up with his Endangered Alphabets project. Brookes carves and paints near-extinct writing systems from Indonesia, Nigeria, and beyond into wood, and he’s planning a traveling exhibition to preserve these scripts and the fascinating cultures they embody.

The Endangered Alphabets Project needs invites for a Vermont a professor traveling the world to attempt to save endangered languages... Please help.

The Google Grant Team will also write ads and Volunteer Match announcements will  be continually added to assist  Dr. Nguyen Viet Nhan, of the Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy in Hue, Vietnam. He joined our organization hoping to seek assistance in several of his endeavors. Below you will find, in his own words, the type of assistance he is currently seeking:

"I am working in Dept of Medical Genetics in Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy in Hue, Central Vietnam. What we are trying to do now is how to find out early some common birth defects (heart defects, mental retardation, cerebral palsy etc.) and set up the early intervention for them. We are pioneers in this field and we are working and learning by ourselves. I am very appreciative if IPP is interested in this field. We need the help from the professional experts to help us set up the strategy for development this project and avoid mistakes."

In order to assist Dr. Nhan, IPP created an online discussion group where he will be able to have dialogue with colleagues in his field. Members of this discussion group will have the opportunity to discuss their successes and challenges. By joining this discussion group, hopefully you will not only contribute to the success of Dr Nhan's project, but will also gain valuable insights that may serve your endeavors as well.

If you are interested in joining this discussion group, please visit our website at http://www.internationalprofs.org/ and fill out the information on our Join Us Page. Please indicate on the registration form that you are interested in joining the Medical Genetics Discussion Group.

Please feel free to contact: rkrate@internationalprofs.org
